Wow I was surprised!

I,Tonya is an incredible movie about the life of Tonya Harding and the various scams that she encountered. It’s a very strange movie, how it’s shot and acted, a lot of the times the actors talk to the camera and I think that’s great! The acting is incredible, I love the cinematography, the screenplay and I can’t believe it got snubbed for best picture. It’s a great movie not for kids tho, it has: sexual content, nudity, you can see full female breasts in strip club, a lot of foul language, there’s not one minute in the film they don’t swear, and violence.10/10 rated:R

It’s Different

I, Tonya is based on a true story. While the movie is violent with many fights, and some guns. Over all it is a good movie, some parts maybe sensitive to others but it is a good movie to show a way of chasing dreams. If you are a protective parent like me look into it you’ll see it’s not all as bad!

Good ADULT retelling of a real life story

Good, entertaining movie about the real life drama of the fall of an Olympic athlete. Tonya Harding had real potential and should have had a successful career in skating if only she could have matured and grown up a bit. Even with positive role model coaches, she couldn't pull herself up and out of her sad upbringing. Her biggest mistake was hooking up with Jeff Gillooly in the first place. I would have liked to see her succeed, but she was her own worst enemy. The movie does a good job portraying the story. That said, this is a movie for adults. There are explicit sex scenes between Tonya and Jeff. Domestic abuse is rampant. Jeff regularly hits Tonya. You applaud when she physically retaliates. Tonya's mother stabs Tonya with a steak knife (throws it). TONS of cursing. Several uses of the "c" word. I watched this with my husband and younger teen son and cringed at the language. 18+

Classic American Tragedy

Cabin fever got you down? Need a streaming option to go with that goblet of red wine? Look no further than I, Tonya. The domestic violence is hard to watch, but the unraveling of an American hero in a tragedy that is equal parts Shakespeare and Cohen Brother’s comedy is captivating. Margot Robbie and Allison Janney square off in this incredible “true life” drama, expertly penned by Steven Rogers. Let the alcohol slip into your bloodstream and enjoy.

I, Solemnly Promise this Film was Snubbed...

The life and career of Tonya Harding is undoubtedly controversial, even to this day. Still, while I, Tonya certainly paints a more sympathetic portrait of the the now infamous titular skater, screenwriter Steven Rogers doesn't let her off the hook entirely. As a matter of fact, Rogers clever angle for the screenplay is one of the major reasons I, Tonya succeeds so strongly: a dark comedy told from a handful of contradicting accounts of the same event. Talk about one hell of a ride!Along with Rogers script, however, the entirety of the cast assembled here churns out amazing performances. From Robbie's strong yet broken Tonya to Stan's obsessed and neurotic Jeff to Janey's cruel and oft hilarious LaVona, these actors elevate the already phenomenal material to new heights . Why this film didn't recieve at least a nomination for Best Picture, I'll never know. Of course, this was the year that The Big Sick was also snubbed of the same honor, and a film featuring sexual relations with a discount Creature from the Black Lagoon ultimately took home the gold. So who knows what Kool-Aid the Academy voters have been drinking...

A very well made, fact based film

This academy award winning film about Tonya Harding is very well made. It’s mature and it’s not family friendly at all, but it’s good for mature teens and adults. The film features very cruel cold hearted characters and domestic abuse, so it may be hard for some individuals to watch, but it’s fact based and accurate. Profanity is strong, so if that bothers you, then just know that it’s abundant and extreme. Violence includes domestic abuse by Tonyas heartless mother and her disgusting ex husband. Sex is not that strong, it’s really just the language and violence that’s present.

Good Movie

The movie shows the true story of the rivalry between Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan in the lead up to the 1994. There is a lot of profanity and a sex scene. But it shows how people can become so self obsessed with fame and glory. And it shows Tonya having to deal with real life problems like divorce, domestic abuse from when she was very young, and crashing down from the peak of her carreer I recommend for age 14+ if they have seen other movies with frequent swearing. Main characters are also shown frequently drinking and smoking

Great knock-out film that shows rise and fall of figure skater

This film was amazing! I loved how this film shows how Tonya Harding grew up, and how she had a rough life. Margot Robbie did an amazing job playing Tonya Harding, and all the acting and the storyline were great, but I felt the film could've been a little shorter and got to the point a little faster. However, the film contains plenty of mature content, including strong pervasive language. This involves several uses of f**k, s**t, c**t, and more. The film also contains some sexual content too. This involves a couple shown having sex twice, and some bare breasts are shown in a strip club. However, it's nothing too graphic. In addition, the film contains several scenes of violence too. This involves scenes of Tonya being abused by her mother and her ex. Plus the Nancy Kerrigan incident is shown, and there are some bloody fights too. Overall this is a great film that is okay for teens 16 and up.
